Weekly Roundup: Milk Makeup, Estée Lauder & Glossier

Milk Makeup Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder… $29

I feel like Milk Makeup has really come a long way since they launched a couple years ago. While I really liked some of the products I reviewed here, the additions to their line are even better.

This setting powder is one of the few I have tried that doesn’t make my face feel super dry or cake over my foundation. It has nourishing ingredients like avocado extract which is interesting to find in a powder product and it does exactly what it says. Stops shiny spots and holds in your makeup without losing your skin’s glowiness. I got the lightest shade and it doesn’t wash me out or lighten the look of my foundation.

I also love the mesh top that only lets the right amount of product out. No more opening a lid and losing days worth of product that’s shaken out. I did take out the white top that holds the sponge because I apply this with a fluffy brush instead of pressing it in with the sponge but both techniques offer great results.

Consensus… this is my new go to powder for finishing off my daily makeup and holding everything in place!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Lip Liners … $26

These are one of my new favorite lip products! I tried them at Macy’s on a whim, drawing a few little dashes on the inside of my wrist in a handful of colors when I was doing some holiday shopping. When I went to clean off my hand full of blush swatches, shimmery eye shadow and eye liners these lip liner marks literally would not wipe off. They lasted nearly the whole until I used my oil makeup remover on them when I got home so I was sold.

They are super long lasting, come in a wide range of colors and I love the dual end with a brush for filling in your lips. I use them as a traditional liner to fill in with lipstick or line my lips over chapstick and then use the brush to blend the liner over my lips for a softer look. I love the shades Pink, Mauve, and Rose.

Consensus… I would highly recommend if you are looking for a long lasting and versatile lip liner.

Glossier Stretch Concealer… $18

I’m a big fan of Glossier’s balm dot com and lidstar I tried after my friend, and Glossier rep, Heike introduced me to the brand. Last time I stocked up I decided I would try their concealer.

I like that it is sheer and buildable but it isn’t as concentrated as some of the concealers I am used to. It takes a little bit of layering with your foundation to brighten up under your eyes but it delivers a really natural look.

I also found that if I’m not wanting to use foundation and use it on its own under my eyes, around the corners of my nose and mouth and in between my eyebrows it brightens up my whole face and doesn’t look like I have anything on which I love.

Consensus… Don’t use it over a smoothing primer and the product will have more staying power. Do use it for a natural and buildable finish. It takes some getting used to but the “no makeup” makeup look it delivers is worth it.
